  • Hired in August 2006 to facilitate merge and start up of 6 private practice surgeons in 5 locations.
  • Established corporate infrastructure for legal, accounting, HR, 401/PS, RCM, SOP and all aspects practices in new entity.
  • Procured insurance for malpractice, business and group health benefits. Optimally navigated annual open enrollment for sustained benefits for budget neutral outcomes,
  • Grew group to 19 surgeons and 11 locations during which time MU, PQRS, MIPS were successfully met.
  • Managed COVID PHE responses in 2020 to include establishing PUA (Pandemic Assistance) for CARES support to staff, while maintaining PPE compliance.

Board level engagement with MGMA, AzMGMA and UHC UHG Optum Advisory Board legislative issues

Lead new credentialing statutes for Arizona in 2016.  Engaged with Arizona Medical Association, MGMA, AzMGMA and Arizona legislation to present at the Health Services Committee in the House of Representatives.


Researched and collaborated with investigative journalist at Propublica and New York urologist that was the lead advocate on exposing the clearing house fees in violation of ACA.


Invited to participate with UHC UHG Optum's Advisory Council that included colleagues, medical socitities, MGMA and UHC across the US; addressed issues and burdens to providers and negative impacts to patients, such as Prior Authorization and the Gold Carding options.


Legislative Chair on Az MGMA board and MGMA State Liaisons.  


15 year member of a private group, Surgical Leadership Alliance.  SLA is an entity focused on sustaining private practice.  Included 2 meetings each year, practice survey for financial and production metrics and NDA for the brain trust sharing, collaboration and collegiality.
