Oversee parks and greenway development, maintenance, and recreational programs for the city. Accountable for delivering measurable, cost-effective results that align with citizen needs and ensure high-quality service delivery and productivity. Manage 7 leadership positions supervising approximately 60-65 full-time employees and up to 150 part-time/seasonal staff across Administrative, Parks, Recreation and Park Project Planning Divisions. Manage the Department’s operating and CIP budgets.

Led team of 4 section coordinators responsible for managing 37 full-time and 16 part-time employees in operations, services, and maintenance of city’s 13,000+ acre park system and urban forest. Oversaw 60 parks, 7 greenways, 5 plazas, more than 100 miles of trails 9 natural service and paved), and approximately 20,000 park and street trees. Managed Park Division’s annual operating budget.

Supervised full-time program supervisors and recreation center staff in the development and implementation of youth, adult, senior and multigenerational programs in arts and culture, fitness, wellness, and aquatics, as well as trips, tours, and special events. Managed operations and services for two recreation centers and two outdoor aquatic facilities.

Delivered high-quality athletic and aquatic programs for youth, adults, and families. Managed two outdoor aquatic facilities and approximately 45 athletic venues. Supervised full-time and part-time recreation specialists and athletic turf maintenance staff. Directed city-wide snow removal efforts for sidewalks, greenways and parking lots, overseeing staff from Parks and Recreation, Transportation, and Solid Waste departments.
