Precepted 108 hours under an experienced Registered Nurse in direct patient care for 5-6 patients daily

• Performed clinical tasks such as catheter insertion and removal, peripheral IV removal for discharge, Jackson-Pratt drain emptying and removal
• Administered medications including topical, oral, intradermal, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intravenous
• Assessed patients vitals and physical assessment
• Monitored glucose, urine input and output measurements
• Used EPIC electronic medical record system in admission of patients and Lexicomp for medication distribution
• Assisted in setting up Med-Surg floor for re-opening after being closed for overflow with crash cart, oxygen, beds, chairs, etc
• Administrative tasks according to hospital policies
• Educated patients and family members on procedures, healthy lifestyles and preventative measures

• Provided empathetic support and communication to patients in direct care including attending therapy sessions, monitoring indoor/outdoor activities
• Served as an advocate for patients and their families throughout clinical time, fostering trust and open communication between all parties involved in care delivery.

• Completed 80 didactic hours in multiple Intensive Care Units including 2T, 3T, ST Emergency Department along with 64 didactic hours in the Heart Catheter Lab, Nursery, Labor & Delivery and Endoscopy Lab

• Engaged in 24 didactic hours in long term care facility where assessed the patients condition, monitored vital signs, & glucose levels
• Administered medications and assisted in wound care with Wound Care Nurse supervision
• Helped patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, oral care, & feeding
