  • Graduation Advising - Advise prospective, new, returning, and continuing students. Currently responsible for 20% of the whole Chico student population, which varies from 2,500 to 3,000 student records any given term. Responsible for University policies for Title 5, EO's, and EM's, needed to earn a BS/BA. Help students with choice of program, values, and major exploration to make intentional career path decisions. Participate in presenting workshops and events for newly enrolled students. Provide crisis intervention to students dealing with difficult situations at school. Maintain accurate and complete student records required by CA law, CSU policies and administrative regulations. Serve as a liaison to College of Natural Science. Apply protocol to determine placement of courses for military work, test credit, and other non-traditional sources. Perform multiple methods of processing, recording, and disseminating degree requirements to students, faculty, and staff to assess transfer credit and completion of degree requirements. I have a very good working knowledge of the campus services and resources needed for student success.
  • RN/BSN Pre-admissions evaluator and Graduation Advisor - Maintain files for prospective students, sometimes up to 3 years prior to acceptance. Process Major Clearance forms for PBAC. Collect and evaluate transcripts for all course requirements into the university and the RN/BSN program. Research out of state school courses, process NCLEX credit to record, help incoming students enroll in final courses needed. Collaborate with the RN/BSN Program Coordinator on missing transcripts, application for graduation, GPA issues, leaving and returning to the program, and ongoing new requirements to GE for acceptance into CSU Chico. Thorough understanding of upper/lower division unit requirements, which is critical to the transfer process of the RN/BSN student.
