I am going to explain a day in the life of a food and beverage employee at Southwick's Zoo. What I do when I first come in for the day is I go into the employees' entrance, and I clock in. Once I clocked in I walk down to the Zebra Cafe because that's where I am always put in. I get into the Zebra Cafe, and I put my bags, if I have some, in the back. Then, I wash my hands and say hi to everyone before I start the day. I then go and put on my gloves and I start stocking the front warmer with all the food that needs to be there for the customers. I also help the people at the register, and if they need help with orders, I assist them. I also answer questions for the customers. Once we close, we clean up. The cleaning process involves the people at the cash registers closing out the registers, ensuring the math is correct, and bringing the bank bags up to the office. The cooks and the expeditors clean out warmers, surfaces, and the dishes in the back through the three-bay sinks. The cleaning process takes about 30 minutes, and then, when I'm finished with what I'm supposed to be cleaning, I get to go home. I leave the Zebra Cafe, go up to the employee exit, clock out, and can officially go home.
