Claire Cordell

I go to North High Mont Elementary School and help in a classroom for three hours a week. During these three hours I help the teacher plan, take the children to lunch and recess, and assist children who are behind. I also make teacher resources to be used in the class, and help the children test on their tablets! I write reflections on these experiences and am working on creating a website to showcase my experience. I work in a first grade class and when im done with a second year of the internship Ill be eligible to internship for pay.

I have participated in several events at a school including a holiday market, and academy 4. During academy 4, which is one friday a month, I go to a school where I either sit with a forth grader and teach them about leadership, or I help with a class the same way I do with my internship. For the holiday market I was at the school for 6 hours helping venders set up, pack up, and pointing costumers in the right direction.

Since I was little I have always helped out with younger children. I watched them play, made them snacks, and occasionally helped with homework.
