Dedicated and compassionate NICU RN with eight years of clinical experience in a Level 3 unit. Assuming the role of Charge Nurse frequently and operating the unit with an organized and collaborative approach. Adaptable and able to admit critical patients, attend deliveries and provide resuscitation, continuously monitor patient's vitals, lab results, and developmental stages. Well versed in caring for intubated patients on multiple IV drips. Also able to switch gears and care for Level 2 "feeder growers" preparing for discharge. Regularly educating parents and encouraging their involvement. Providing emotional support to families in times of stress and uncertainty. Accompanying infant's to the operating room and providing post surgical care. Caring for infants experiencing drug withdrawal from maternal drug use. Constantly collaborating with the care team consisting of Neonatologists, Nurse Practictionerse, Respiratory Therapists, Dieticians, Pharmacists, Physical/Occupational Therapists and Social Workers. International Board Certified Lactation Consultant using my knowledge and skills to help mothers improve their breast milk supply for their vulnerable infants, and assisting in breastfeeding success for infants with various feeding challenges.
