Claire Harken

For many years, I have worked on my own in the Kansas City area as a pet sitter, primarily for dogs (although I love cats the most!). I have worked for a wide range of customers and attended to varying needs when it comes to daily care for the animals. I have experience with extremely large dogs like great danes and rottweilers as well as smaller breeds like dachshunds. On many occasions the dogs I care for are elderly, sick, or disabled and I haver administered all forms of medication except vaccination/shots. These include oral medication, creams, and nose and ear canal medications. I have experience with dogs with seizures, blind and deaf dogs, scared/aggressive dogs, and puppies. I am very comfortable with highly anxious dogs as well as super excited and playful pups. As a house sitter I maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment at all times to ensure the animals' happiness and routine while their owner is away! I am confident in my ability to communicate when things may need clarification about a pet's needs and remain focused if there is anything out of the ordinary.

I have worked in many different roles at Waldo Pizza over the years including bartending. As bartender at this job I perform many tasks:

- Responsibility for cash and credit card transactions as well as counting a register at open and close.

- Memorizing and perfecting classic cocktails, rotating cocktails, and types of liquor available.

- Have adequate beer and wine knowledge to recommend to customers.

- Memorize and be knowledgeable of a complex food menu and specials.

- Clean and polish all glassware as well as bar tools. Maintain clean work environment and bar for guests.

- Develop new and seasonal cocktails.

- Batch fresh juices, syrups, and cocktails every shift or weekly.

- Manage balance of high volume bar tickets for entire restaurant as well as for bar guests.

- Train new employees.

- Create a unique and enjoyable experience for each guest!

In this role I primarily prepared food and drinks for customers. Other key points of this role:

- Memorize and perfect 60+ recipes for food and drink.

- Maintain clean and heathy environment.

- Have knowledge about varieties of teas and their benefits.

- Work in a fast paced, high volume environment while maintaining proper customer service.

During my time with this company I would take care of mostly dogs but sometimes cats as well. My daily duties consisted of taking dogs on 20 minute- 2hr walks starting from 8am and ending around 8pm. Alongside walks we also offered house and pet sitting! Occasionally I would administer medicine to the pups as well as feed and groom them.

I worked in a few different roles at this restaurant including; server, drink and food preparer, busser, and dishwasher.
