School-based Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee
Responsibilities include scheduling and providing school-based direct counseling services to elementary and middle school students while establishing outreach and ongoing engagement with families and caregivers. Crisis intervention is provided as needed. Progress notes and collateral consults are expected for every direct counseling session. Initial case assessments that include case formulations and treatment plans are completed regularly. Daily consultation occurs with administrators, teaching and support staff. Case advocacy is offered as needed. One hour of individual supervision and two hours of group supervision meetings are attended each week.

Duties included planning professional and educational community events for the psychology department at GGU. Monthly meetings were held with various guest speakers from the field of mental health here in San Francisco. Outdoor events included nature immersion throughout San Francisco's natural landscape. Discussions place before and after the immersive experience around what came up for us as future licensed clinicians in terms of our own self-care and nature as an accessible tool for our clients.

Assisted Dr. Leong in answering questions during lectures on Zoom. Held office hour with other teaching assistants after classes where students could come with various concerns about assignments and the balancing of school/life stress. Other duties included grading papers and PowerPoint assignments throughout the semester.
