I started working at this restaurant located outside of the Kenilworth mall at the beginning of my sophomore year in 2021, after finishing a great first summer at Elkridge. I chose this new place because my brother had gotten a job there after we ate out for my birthday in Catonsville, their other location. After applying, I had an interview and began training three times the following day and so on. This was my first real job that required independence and no reliance on others whatsoever. During last school year, I worked once during the week and once during a weekend. Now, after taking another break for the summer, I returned in September and due to my junior year manageable commitments, I am just working once or twice a weekend. This job has been great that I have gotten seven of my peers to joining me! I continue to learn from it every shift.
To-go order preparation
undefinedAfter working for two months, the person and soon after a dear friend of mine, even today, who had trained me and I had grown close with stopped working because she was busy with her senior year in high school. From then on, my manager Mateo Diaz began calling me his head hostess. This was a great affirmation because it made me feel like I was doing the right thing even when things felt uncomfortable at times. He did this along with my best friend, Logan Meushaw. The growth I have seen from this what seems like small job has been immense over the past two years, and I am beyond thankful for it. Two years ago, I had gone from a shy girl who couldn't even call to order carry out to someone who will go up to someone in a crowd and start a conversation. All thanks to this place!
