With an eye for proper grammar and syntax, punctuation and spelling, like a music composer's ear to correct notes, editing written as well as spoken words is my passion; so much so that, presently, I find myself editing one of my nursing textbooks. On content editing, one example includes a recent error I found in my Continuing Education Course material. I submitted the error and received a call back from the company's customer service representative to confirm my submission. He then promised to forward my submission to management and informed me that I would be contacted by management, and indeed, I was.

Presently, as mentioned before, I am in the process of editing my last course text for my Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN) degree as I found this text had notable errors while reading for my classwork. Subsequently, I made note to return upon completion of the course to thoroughly edit the book. The time I spend editing each chapter has provided me a sense of gratification, which then piques my interest in the pursuit of professional text/copy editing.
