Study Abroad

Art + Art History Rome: Material, Making, Meaning – 2024  

This program allowed for the unique opportunity to live, work, and create art in Italy. Through site visits and field  trips, we were able to experience the most influential art of Western civilization first-hand. We created artwork and  held an exhibition showcasing our knowledge of historical and contemporary materials.

Projects

Social Media Project 

  • Collaborated with the social media team at the Seattle Art Museum in order to create a visually appealing final product that met strict guidelines.

Architecture 431 Project 

  • A 10-week long group project where we developed a design proposal for a high performance, climate-responsive detached accessory dwelling unit (DADU), powered only by the sun and the renewable electricity produced on the roof using photovoltaics.

Architecture 436 Project

  • A group project where we had to create drawings, diagrams, and calculations to create a concert hall that had specific reverberation times in order to adhere to the desired building acoustics.
