I am currently working at Advance Surgery Medical Center for a Urologist as a post anesthesia care nurse. I am looking for a position in the Post anesthesia care unit in the near future.
In my current job, I carry out evaluations of patients prior to surgical procedures and collaborate with anesthesiologists in preparation for their procedure. I monitor patient responses to anesthesia during the recovery period after surgery. I utilize critical thinking skills when assessing patient needs during the recovery process. I worked in a high-volume, fast-paced emergency department. I performed comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions. I was assigned different roles on any given shift. I was a triage nurse, prioritizing treatment of incoming patients based on acuity level. I would have to quickly respond to life-threatening situations while maintaining composure under pressure and providing optimal care, support, and life-saving interventions. I cared for patients experiencing acute traumas, including cardiac arrests and strokes. With my 13 years of expertise, I then trained other nurses on patient care and daily tasks, supporting growth and professional development. I was a preceptor for Paramedic interns and new grad nurses. Did the role of Charge Nurse in the busy Emergency Department.
