May 2024 took over a understaffed store for Jack in the Box with a crew that did not work well together. First month restructured the internal operations of the restaurant. Including terminating some employees and retraining the remaining staff, Hiring and training new employees. Cut internal loss/theft by over 50% and cut cash loss by 100%. Boosted employee morale and productivity by working closely with the crew, rewarding outstanding work and achievements. Created an open door policy within the store. Listened to crew thoughts and ideas to better store and applied these in cases where it bettered the store. When Jack in the Box closed all locations in the area a year later. My store had a staff that worked together for the better of the store, worked well with one another, felt they had a voice and knew they had helped to create a safe, strong, constantly progressing workplace environment.
My responsibilities with Jack In the Box included the daily operation of restaurant and staff. Staffing, scheduling, training, coaching, evaluations, promotions, and terminations as needed. I was also responsible for truck orders and delivery, daily and weekly inventory, waste, P&L and maintaining the up keep and cleanliness of the building and equipment. Guest experience and guest service to include handling guest/customer complaints.
Joined McDonald's in January 1989 as a Crew Member when I was 16 years old. Became a certified Crew Trainer. At 18 became a certified Shift Manager. In 1995 started training as a General Manager. In 1996 attended Hamburger University in Illinois. After completing Hamburger University became a General Manager for McOpCo. Spent 30 plus years with McDonald's. In my career with McDonald's I covered a wide variety of rules from Crew to Training Manager. It also covered a variety of responsibilities from training, hiring, team building, evaluations, coaching, terminations, and scheduling, covering shifts as need to ensure labor and guest service needs. Responsibilities also include daily cash control, control of waste, inventory, truck ordering and delivery daily and weekly inventory. I was also responsible for retaining guest, helping guest with complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction.
