Responsible for assessing and conducting comprehensive patient history, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments.

Develop a treatment plan and evaluate patient outcomes in coordination with Attending physicians.

Monitors laboratory, radiographic and procedural data for patient disposition. Must visually evaluate data and prepare written information.

Participates in the education and orientation of Advanced Practice students and new APP's.

• Managed complex caseloads while ensuring the highest level of care for each patient and administered critical care interventions to stabilize patients in life threatening conditions.

• Works with a team of 7 Pulmonary-Critical Care Intensivists and 20+ Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to provide coverage for the Houston Methodist West 25-bedded Critical Care Unit with mix cases of CV surgery, general surgery and medical ICU patients. Also covers the 20-bed ICU of Houston Methodist -Continuing-Care Hospital that saw the influx of post acute-care COVID-19 patients from all of the HM hospitals during the recent pandemic.
• Perform diagnostic and invasive procedures including; endotracheal intubations, central line placement, temporary HD access and arterial line cannulation.
• Write and complete consults notes, progress / episodic and procedure notes in a timely fashion.

• Works with a team of 7 ICU Intensivists and 18 Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to provide coverage to the 20-bed Surgical ICU and 20-bed Medical ICU, with mix cases of CV surgery, Neurosurgery, General surgery, and complex medical ICU patients.
• Perform invasive procedures including; endotracheal intubations, central line and temporary HD access placement, arterial cannulation, PICC line placement, removal of chest tubes / pacer wires / PA or MAC / IABP catheters.
• Actively participate and coordinate patient care between healthcare providers and round with ICU Intensivist and multidisciplinary team.
• Write and complete H&P’s, consults, progress, episodic and procedure notes in a timely fashion.
• Responder for Code Blue, Rapid Response, STEMI and Code Stroke calls.

• Performed delegated functions under physician supervision; formulated differential diagnoses and treatment plans for pulmonary, IM and critical care problems. Exercised prescriptive authority in accordance to APN scope of practice.
