A PCO at Alcoa does things such as setting carbon which includes crust breaking, taking old block out, setting the new carbon block in, and setting it to the right height. A PCO also does tapping and that includes getting the cruse ready for the tapper to tap the aluminum from the pots, and finally a PCO does all sorts of housekeeping which is sweeping, changing side covers, changing doors, and anything else that needs to be cleaned up or make look like a clean work place.
