Work History

Foreman

04.2023 - 05.2024

I was asked to relocate Here to the cleveland location to be the shift Foreman and to train as the production manager.

i arrived to this location being one of two people that actually understood and was able to make this lines run and run correctly.

i worked closely with the engineers as they placed these lines back together from the move from South Carolina.

I was part of the continuous improvement project team.

I had trained the other three shift Foreman until they were comfortable running a shift on there own.

I remained on call 24/7 and was expected to be back at the plant at anytime when a problem occurred.

I worked closely with the maintenance team teaching them the inns and outs of our equipment and how to trouble shoot issues as they occurred.

I had to train my entire shift how to run the lines and wind coils. When and how to do all quality checks then would do my own quality checks no less then 3 times in a 12 hour shift.

I was incharge of scheduling for my shift making sure i always had the coverage needed to run efficiently with out having any down time.

i had to make sure the lines changed over when products were finished and had to get the new products to meet all expectations making sure everything was as close to our target specs as possible.

i handled payroll for my shift.

I was also the hiring manager for production, i had to conduct all interviews and decide if they would be a good fit to our team.

I worked closely with our vp lindsey and would help her decide some of our better options when it came to things such as replacing equipment/upgrading. example our automatic screen changer had been giving us a lot of problems so we looked at the pros and cons to fixing the main issue or if it would be more cost efficient to replace the entire screen changer.

i worked closely with our quality manager to not only insure my product was the best it could be, but also learning the inns and out of that area of our compony.

i was also the one to hold the safety orientations for all new hirers.

i was sent here from ohio to help fix the problems they were facing at this plant. I was in charge of all ten lines on the production floor. My job consisted of overseeing 20-25 employees and making sure production was running safely and as efficiently as possible, this included all product change overs on each line making sure products were not being over ran, assuring, all quality checks were being done and meeting expectations problem solving and reducing downtime and scrap. I was was in charge of conducting all interviews held for production and deciding if they would be an asset to our team. I handled time cards for all the production employees on my shift making sure all hours were correct before submitting them to payroll. At the end of each 12 hour shift I filled out efficiency reports using Excel and submitted them to our plant manager. When available, I hosted the safety orientation for each new employee and gave tours of our plant. I was also in charge of making sure there was coverage for each shift by finding people willing to work overtime. Towards the last year of working in this plant I was asked to help / join the continuous improvement project team and help create better, safer and more efficient ways for production to operate

I was in charge of keeping two lines running either lines six and seven or lines one and two depending where I was needed. All of the quality tests for the finish product as well as the material being loaded into the lines had to be checked at least twice a day. I was incharge of setting up and changing the lines over when an order was finished. This included changing inserts in the diehard. Adjusting line conditions making the speed we ran the new product correct as well as all of the required specs the new products called for. I would double check that the operator were setting up there winders correctly. including the right sized arms were being used and lined up with the core as needed helping produce tightly wound coils. I'd double check they had used the proper cams and gears, on the back of the winders! I'd make sure these the order on shop floor online matched the product we were changing to and that the footage on the winders was set correctly. After words I would bring the line back up then check that everything was as close to the targeted specs needed for said order. I would then be in charge of checking the quality of the straps and signing off on them before giving them the ok to begin producing product.

i started as a forklift driver stocking the production lines and pulling/staging finished product and worked my way to a winder op. from there i was promoted to and offline op after 6 months working as an offline op i was promoted to a groupleader until i was given the foreman job when asked to relocate
