Driven individual with seven years of experience working in the first responder setting. Two as a resident Firefighter/EMT in the Olympia, WA area. Five seasons as a federal wildland firefighter: two seasons on engines, two seasons on helitack, and the most recent was with a hot shot crew. I have recently re-certified as an EMT-Basic and am working in Newport, WA with the goal of attending a paramedic program within the next year. Public service has always been my calling and I am always eager to learn in order to improve my craft and provide a competent and efficient service.
As an EMT-B my primary responsibility is to safely respond to emergent and non-emergent 911 scenes and provide quality BLS level care or assist my partner with ALS level care, and safely transport patients to definitive care as necessary.
As a crewmember of a twenty person firefighting module, we engaged in fire suppression activities throughout the western United States; constructing fireline with hand tools, ignition equipment, and chainsaws.
As a helicopter crewmember I was responsible for manifesting and constructing cargo loads for logistical support of fireline operations, and for the safe loading and transport of firefighting personnel being flown in for suppression activities.
As a resident I lived at department substation and responded to emergencies within my response area treating at the BLS level. I operated fire apparatus and was a pump operator/engineer.
