I am a dedicated and hard working individual who has proven myself to be an asset in a variety of fields. I take pride in being a disciplined and trustworthy employee, regardless of the level of supervision, always holding myself to the highest standards. I am constantly looking for ways to not only improve my skills but acquire new ones. I consider myself an avid problem solver and use all of my resources to troubleshoot different scenarios and come to the most efficient conclusion. My personable demeanor and willingness to take on any task, no matter how hard, has allowed me to thrive in all environments. I aim to always be a team player, making it a goal to assist in any way possible but can efficiently work independently when needed.
In my time with BKM I have quickly progressed in my responsibilities from a mover, then installer, to a current field lead. I am presently responsible for overseeing our install crew, quality control, as well as being the field presence for the contractor/client in order to ensure their satisfaction from start to finish. Due to the nature of our work (emphasis on Medical, Federal & Educational), I have experience working with a variety of clients where a high level of discretion is essential. These jobs range from single day jobs to those exceeding a year where I am either directing an entire crew or working independently, trusted to maintain order and efficiency in both scenarios. During install, many times troubleshooting and coming up with plan b’s is necessary which has allowed me to further expand my skills in repairs and customizations. Though arduous physical labor is a large component of my work, attention to detail to not only the client specifications but also the finished product, has set me aside to be personally requested by contractors for their job sites. My OSHA 30 certification qualifies me as the “competent person” on job sites. Additionally, I am able to read blue prints and overview maps. I am constantly emailing with project managers, streamlining communication between the field and the office. I finish my day by submitting daily reports, taking clear notes of the day’s progress and ensuring that all needed personnel (both internal and external) are aware of pending work. I will occasionally work from our warehouse, taking inventory and providing maintenance to our shop/vehicles. I am always looking for ways to be of use, going above and beyond, regardless of the task and giving my all to ensure the upmost quality.
As a Trained Window film technician I am responsible for the installation of 3M film and CrimSafe door screens. We service both commercial and residential sites which has given me the opportunity to work on jobs of all sizes and with clients of all backgrounds. As most days brings me to different sites, I am constantly adapting to not only changes in location but also the needs of the client. My day consists of working under minimal to no supervision, completing every job to the highest standard of quality all while remaining mindful of my time so that all jobs are completed to schedule. Though a field technician, I have made it a priority to work in unison with the front office department, keeping clear communication so that all ends of the job run smoothly. Aside from the installation, I am in charge of the final walkthrough. Here I make sure the area where I was working is clean, all necessary site documentation has been taken and that the collection and processing of payment has been completed. I then educate the client on the care, function, and warranty of the product. This job has helped fine tune my ability to confidently communicate with the any client in a friendly, professional and clear way.
In my more than four years with Carreiro Builders, I was closely involved in the building of custom multimillion dollar homes. In this time, I was able to expand my overall knowledge of construction and became comfortable with sustained physical labor in all types of conditions and environments. I was originally hired as a laborer but progressively was entrusted with more responsibility. By the end of my time here, I was the lead painter responsible for all interior and exterior painting as well as any custom finishes on furniture. Though I specialize in paint, I have experience in masonry, carpentry, tile, concrete, landscaping, demolition, grading and underground. I constantly used these additional skills to help others finish their tasks and help keep the job on track. I gained experience with using an assortment of tools and can operate equipment such as scissor lifts, fork lifts, and skid steer loaders. I also know how to assemble scaffolding and am comfortable with heights. Additionally, I was tasked the transportation of materials and waste to and from the job sites. I coordinated directly with vendors to ensure necessary materials were available and kept track of receipts for office use.
My first employer was Belkorp Ag, a John Deere dealership. Though initially hired as a janitor, my driven attitude and willingness to learn earned me a promotion to a shipping and receiving clerk. This position required me to be well organized and attentive to detail as I kept track of all orders, ensuring they arrived complete and that they went to the appropriate departments. For all special order parts, I communicated directly with both vendors and customers to facilitate the transaction and kept clear communication with any necessary updates. I assisted with unloading the delivery trucks, kept shelves stocked and logged the changes in inventory. Here I was able to further develop the ability to coordinate multiple timelines with a variety of outside departments in order to keep the flow both in the office and the warehouse.
Over the span of the 7 years working with Oak Avenue Catering , I was able to learn the ins and out of not only food service but the hospitality industry as a whole. I have strong interpersonal skills that allowed me to thrive in an environment with constant interactions with the public. Creating a welcoming yet highly professional atmosphere all while providing premium service were part of every event. As the lead server, the setup, breakdown and overall serve out were under my supervision. I trained all new hires and was trusted to provide leadership by directing assisting servers. I kept myself well versed in all the course items and with the wine varietals to answer any guest questions and assisted with bartending when necessary. As the caterers, we were the first to arrive, setting up the various stations and arranging all table settings, and the last to leave, ensuring the cleanup of the site and loading of all of our supplies back into the trucks. Though the hours were long and laborious, it showed me that I have a high level of endurance. This position gave me the experience necessary to maintain focused and organized in a fast paced environment.
