Accomplishments

  • Working as a Teen Advisor for the mental health awareness nonprofit, Bring Change to Mind, for the 2019-2020 Board year. Representing the entire state of California alongside twenty other teenagers to help the organization promote mental health awareness and provide consumer feedback on resources created. Together with Bring Change to Mind, the Teen Advisors helped launch the series #NoNormal which promotes normalizing mental illness.
  • For the 2019-2020 in person school year, acted as the BOSA (Board of Student Affairs) Vice President tasked with running a leadership class, planning school-wide events including Prom, rallies, and sports events. During this time, over 50 hours of community service have been accumulated.
  • In Spring 2019, I received the Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award for demonstrating commitment for understanding and addressing difficult social issues as well as the George Eastman Young Leaders Award for strong leadership experience at school and in the community while maintaining high grades and having extensive involvement in extracurricular activities.

Hobbies

I love reading, creative writing., playing lacrosse, acting, playing guitar, volunteering for a Bay Area-based mental health organization, organizing events for my school's community, and working with kids! During my time in high school, I have received a college award for my leadership skills, several high honors for my GPA achievements, lead a mental health awareness club, and fostered positive change and overseen an extensive list of student run activities as the BOSA (Board of Student Affairs) Vice President.I have grown up in a large family with four siblings so communication and teamwork are some of my strongest skills! I love helping others and providing a welcoming and supportive environment to everyone I meet.
