Trained in the Theory, Risk, and Skills required by the Airmen Certifications Standards and approved by the Federal Aviation Administration under 14 CFR Part 65 and Part 147 which meet the prerequisite requirements to obtain a rating of Airframe and/or Powerplant. The following tasks were performed at National Aviation Academy:
Airframe: Inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing airframe components and systems, such as hydraulic/pneumatic and electrical systems, flight controls, landing gear, emergency exits, ice/rain protection, and fire suppression.
Powerplant: Inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing Powerplant components and systems, such as reciprocating and turbine engines, carburetors, fuel controls, propellers, induction, exhaust, ignition/starting, and rigging.
Structures: Inspect, fabricate, and repair aircraft structures utilizing structural repair manuals and drawings. Fabricate metallic repairs utilizing proper techniques of forming bending, hole preparation, and fastener installation. Proper preparation and layup of composite repairs utilizing wet lay-up and prepreg materials, hot bond techniques, and adhesives.
Avionics/Electrical: Training in principles and testing of ADF, VOR, DME, GPS, ILS, ADS-B and VHF, HF and ACARS Communications, utilizing specialized test equipment. Training in principles and testing of Pitot/Static systems and instruments utilizing specialized test equipment. ETOPS and EWIZ familiarization. Trained in interpreting wiring diagram schematics.
