  • I was responsible for the investigation of any felony cases assigned to me by the Chief Deputy. This included compiling clear and concise case files, interviewing witnesses, processing crime scenes, organizing and storing evidence, writing detailed reports, testifying in court when needed, typing arrest and search warrants, typing subpoenas, etc.
  • I also was responsible for day to day patrol duties, such as answering calls for service, working traffic accidents, investigating misdemeanor crimes and settling civil disputes.

    Responsible for keeping an accurate inventory of all police department equipment, uniform allowance, keeping up to date personnel folders and making sure all officers are currently up to standards with Law Enforcement Standards.
  • Field training officer for new hires. This entailed teaching new officers the proper techniques and strategies for traffic stops, answering calls for service, how to properly write clear and concise incident and accident reports.
  • Responsible for running the criminal investigation division, which included investigating all felony criminal offenses that occurred within the city limits of Hampton, putting together and organizing all felony case files, organization of all evidence collected from crime scenes, responsible for handling all crime scenes and continuing education on the latest criminal investigation methods.
