While working at Birch Equipment we help the Holly Frontier get equipment when needed during the turn around. I worked the turn around last spring and being I have Twic card, I was able to go into the refinery and make deliveries when needed. Over the year and a Half Ive been with Birch Ive mapped out the Refinery layout pretty well being that im in there a handful of times each month making delivers or swapping out equipment. I also drove equipment in and out of the refinery, Like forklift reaches or rough terrain forklifts. Being I had a very good understanding of how to operate these machines because Im in them all day at Birch. I know how to operate all types of booms and forklifts, and how to function them properly. I worked on a lot of small equipment coming back from the refinery like pumps and compressors. I now have a deeper understanding of tearing them apart and figuring out how to troubleshoot and fix them with my training up at our shop. I feel like I would be a good fit for any refinery position, being that im familiar with the layout of the refinery and how to work on and operate any of the equipment that is used. I pick up things fast but also efficient as well as I want things to be done proper. Im familiar with how turn around works and the importance and pace that they are. I also understand the safety procedure that is informed about the refinery, and how important it is to follow certain guidelines to make sure that not only you are safe but your peers around you are. Being Im used in the refinery a lot, I attend training courses when needed.
