Accomplishments

While working at Mercy Jefferson Hospital I have gotten a lot of experience. I have learned how to draw blood, I have worked every floor in the hospital, from ER-Psych-Cardiac-Rehab. I assist the Nurses and other staff in what they need with my patients. I learned to do EKG's and at one point floated around doing those if they needed me to. They have taught me how to do the basic hooking up, feedings and unhooking up GTUBES. I knew some basic wound care but Nurses have taught me more as I have assisted wound care nurses in their rounds so I know what to look for. I am certified with the restraint chair, also with restraints if needed, I can use a roll belt safely if its a need as well.

Tulip Award/ Preceptor of the Year

I was awarded the Tulip award twice. The first time was from a patient, who said I had given him exceptional care. The second time was from the L&D floor for coming up in an emergency situation and staying after for them to help when they had twins being born early.

Another award I have received just this year was Preceptor/Mentor of the Year. I enjoy mentoring/precepting, and teaching new PCT's on the floor. But I was nominated to receive this award.
