As an Engineering Technician, my responsibilities include:
- Creating detailed assembly instructions using SolidWorks Composer.
- Linking all instructions in Navison.
- Training and managing interns throughout the year.
- Serving as the liaison between engineering and production. I host multiple weekly meetings to ensure both departments are in agreement, then execute based on the decisions made.
- Aiding in the design and creation of any tooling needed.
- Assisting production with any problems they may face, this can be anything from simply changing a part number in the instructions to going out and helping them build machines.
Prior to being promoted, I was a Lab Intern, and my responsibilities included:
- Building prototype units, then aiding the engineers in testing said units.
- Replacing and testing new parts in an array of units.
- Troubleshooting problematic units and fixing the problem after diagnosis.
- Keeping a detailed record of all work done on a daily basis.
I was first hired as a Production Associate, and my responsibilities included:
- Following wire schematics and wiring machines accordingly.
- Brazing and soldering all plumbing based on a piping diagram.
- Using an array of tools to finish the assembly of multiple different units.
- Performing an individual quality inspection on each unit before sending it down the line.
