After carefully considering multiple factors, such as quality, cost effectiveness, and supporting local businesses, I identified a reputable, locally owned welding shop. By outsourcing the welding job to the local welding shop, we were able to promptly fix the boat's welds, ensuring its operational readiness. Additionally, this decision resulted in significant cost savings for the Coast Guard, amounting to over $20,000. Moreover, our collaboration with the local business bolstered the community's economy and supported a locally owned enterprise.
