Construction Lineman

Windstream
Manchester, IA
01.2022 - Current
  • As a construction line worker my crew and I were tasked with installing, fixing, and maintaining both fiber optic and copper cabling. As a lineman we have a very wide variety of different work we do on a daily basis, from fixing cut drops, to hanging or boring in new cable underground.
  • With Windstream as well as the construction lineman, I gained the skills to splice both fiber optic and copper. I have experience with both. I would not say I’m a professional, however I’d love to further my experience with both.
  • With this job I learned various skills, such as running machinery, understanding how engineering works, splicing, but most importantly learning how the production side of the telecom industry works/operates.
