Assistant Stage Manager
Pre-Production:
• Assist in preparing rehearsal schedules, scripts, and prompt books.
• Attend production meetings to stay updated on changes and requirements.
During Rehearsals:
• Take blocking notes and maintain accurate documentation for the Stage Manager.
• Ensure actors are on time, ready, and aware of rehearsal changes.
• Set up and clean up the rehearsal space, including props, furniture, and any necessary materials.
• Serve as a communication link between the director, cast, crew, and Stage Manager.
Tech Week and Performances:
• Oversee backstage operations, ensuring props, sets, and costumes are in place and ready.
• Manage cues for props, actors, and scene changes during the show.
• Handle emergencies or unexpected issues during the performance calmly and efficiently.
Sound Technician
• Set up sound equipment before rehearsals.
• Create or organize sound effects and music cues.
• Ensure proper placement of audio quality.
• Work with the director and actors to adjust sound levels and effects for clarity and impact.
• Practice running sound cues in coordination with lighting and staging during tech rehearsals.
Tech Week and Performances:
• Operate the soundboard or audio control system during performances.
• Play sound effects and music cues at the correct times according to the script or Stage Manager’s cues.
• Troubleshoot any audio issues, such as malfunctioning mics or speakers, during the show.
• Provide feedback on the sound design for future improvements.
