Adept at multitasking and problem-solving, I significantly enhanced operational efficiency at Borghese Lane LLC by leveraging my expertise in engine maintenance and interpersonal communication. Excelling in project planning and critical thinking, I ensured seamless operations, demonstrating a strong ability to adapt and prioritize tasks effectively.
Worked as a lead deckhand and a relief engineer for the M/V Miss Ashley. My duties as a deckhand included securing barges, checking tow, building tow, shifting docks, making locks, cleaning, painting, and occasionally repairing barges. As an engineer, I was responsible for operation and maintenance inside the engine room when the lead enginer was off, including starting and stopping the main engines, switching generators, and measuring fuel levels. I was also in charge of maintaining these engines as needed of me, such as changing various filters, transferring fuel, and recording all services and the running hours for the day. I also did minor repairs when the need arose, such as replacing broken light fixtures, replacing electric pumps, and replacing air valves.
While employed at BHS, I worked in their main fleet as a harbor deckhand aboard a "lunch bucket" boat. I was responsible for checking fleets, securing barges, shifting docks, cleaning barges, situating barges on dry docks, cleaning boats, general maintenance of boats, and some minor repairs of both barges and boats.
