  • Early World History: An Interactive Text: Served as the lead author of this interactive text which was published in 2011. Designed the layout of the book and wrote the following chapters: Chapter 2, Earliest Civilizations; Chapter 5, Greek civilization; Chapter 6, Rome; and Chapter 13, Changes in Christendom.
  • Test bank for Connections: A World History Connections: A World History , a textbook written by Edward Judge and John Langdon and published by Pearson Education Corporation.
  • Textbook revisions: Reviewed and revised the maps and relevant questions in the Fourth edition of The Essential World History , a textbook written by William Duiker and Jackson Spielvogel and published by Cengage.
  • Wrote and received grant from Mississippi Humanities Council for oral history project documenting the stories of local WWII veterans. Supervised history students and oversaw interviews. These interviews are now bound and housed in the library of Meridian Community College.

Awards

Clarence Roberts Teacher of the Year This prestigious award is chosen by the faculty of Meridian Community College.

STAR teacher, Northeast High School This award is given by the STAR student, the senior with the highest ACT score.

Lauderdale County Teacher of the Month This award is chosen by the Lauderdale County School district’s central office. The faculty of each county school nominates one teacher, and the recipient is chosen from these nominees.

Affiliations

  • Faculty Senate, Meridian Community College, 2010-2013 Senators are elected by the faculty of Meridian Community College. Senators serve as liaisons between administration and faculty.
  • Sponsor, Future Educators Association I served as a sponsor for the Meridian Community College chapter of FEA from 2003-2009. Under my leadership, FEA established a program which placed community college education majors in classrooms in Lauderdale County and Meridian Public School districts. Additionally, under my leadership, FEA was awarded the prestigious B.G. Raden Award recognizing the top three clubs at Meridian Community College.
  • Sponsor, Phi Theta Kappa I served as a sponsor for the Meridian Community College Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa from 2001-2003.
