I retired from St Vincent's Healthcare January 1,2023, feeling blessed to have cared for so many laboring women assisting them to have the best experience possible in one of the most important times of their lives and being part of such a sacred event witnessing a miracle on a daily basis.
As I have been seeking God for what he has next for me, I became excited about MBC moving back to Billings. Being part of the work of preparing/shaping individuals to further God's kingdom is important work and I would feel blessed to be able to be part of MBC.
Thank you for your consideration.
As a St. Vincent employee, I worked as an RN at the Community Crisis Center (out patient facility for mental illness/substance use) from September 2012 -January 16.
In this position, I worked part time as a staff nurse (assessing clients for safety and helping with case management for mental illness/addiction resources)and part time as clinical nurse manager maintaining adequate staffing (hiring, evaluations, scheduling), keeping medical policies up to date and supervising daily functions.
Starting January 2016 through Jan 2023, I worked as a staff RN in L&D at St Vincent Healthcare taking care of laboring patients during their labor and delivery; also care of preterm patients.
As Nurse Manager, I supervised 8-10 nurses and staff members which included their counseling training, US training( and keeping skills up to date); staff scheduling, staff and program development, yearly evaluations, staff meetings.
I obtained data and provided reports to the Board quarterly; kept policies up to date and helped with outreach trainings in other clinics in Montana.
I helped train and supervise volunteers.
I also met with clients for options counseling and preformed early prenatal ultrasounds.
Most of these 24 years were spent as a staff nurse in L&D taking care of laboring women; some of these years I functioned also as a charge nurse overseeing the day to day activities.
Since this position I am applying for is not a nursing position, most of my nursing skills would not be applicable; however, I do have a lot of experience working with people in general Specifically, I feel like I have fairly good communication skills (I'm a good listener); I have a servant's heart and like to help wherever needed I am usually a calming presence in the midst of stressful situations (years of working in L&D and helping people relax during that intense time)
