Provide clinical pod support to include triage PSR (Patient Service Representative) questions, and provide clinical guidance as indicated; triage clinical questions, and resolve or delegate appropriately. Be available as a clinical resource, as well as assist with client-driven clinical escalations and help provide support for escalation fact aggregation, review, and response. Other duties included assisting the Client Engagement team with consultant audits/high-cost case reviews – preparation, fact gathering, and support, as needed. Supported the Pod Manager in assuring smooth integration of clinical functions within the Pod and maintained a working knowledge of all clinical workflows and policies.

• Precertification nurse in responsible for processing coverage determinations and utilization management reviews for a variety of different procedures and medical services. Responsibilities included acquiring and reviewing clinical documentation to process the service request within the designated time frames indicated. Applied critical thinking and proper decision making while performing reviews. Utilized multiple systems and resources to achieve proper decision in utilization management reviews. Worked and collaborated with a multi-disciplinary clinical team of nurses and medical directors to provide a customer-centered experience within service level expectations.

• Staff nurse in the Operating room setting caring for patients receiving several different types of surgeries including but not limited to orthopedic, cardiovascular, general and neurology. Duties included Collaborating with physicians and other health care providers to develop a care plan for the patient during surgery and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure the highest safety and surgical standards for the patient. Prepared surgical suite according to surgery and surgeon preference. Adhered to AORN standards of perioperative practice and documentation of the case on an electronic medical record platform while maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPPA standards

• Applied and maintained casts, splints and orthopedic soft good appliances as directed by a physician or nurse practitioner. Provided patients and families with instructions on cast care, crutch walking and orthopedic appliances. Demonstrated sterile and aseptic techniques, as appropriate, in the performance of and/or assisting with procedures and interventions with advanced care providers and physicians.
