  • As an MMN Work Center Supervisor, I was responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing nuclear propulsion plants, steam turbines, and associated auxiliary machinery on aircraft carrier USS Harry S Truman. As well as planning, scheduling, overseeing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, conducting training, ensuring safety procedures are adhered, interpreting tech manuals and blueprints to solve complex maintenance problems, and ensuring safety and wellbeing of personnel.
  • As a Quality Assurance Inspector, I was responsible for verifying that maintenance, repair, and modernization of naval vessels and components adhere strictly to standards. Conducting in-process inspections, routine record auditing, manage controlled materials, and perform testing to ensure fleet safety and combat readiness.
  • I operated/maintained Steam Turbines, Valves, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Low and High Pressure Air Compressors, Water Treatment Units, Water Distilling Plants, and Boilers.

Accomplishments

  • As the Work Center Supervisor, flawlessly led 40+ Sailors in the completion of over 9,000 maintenance items annually, leading team through 8 successful Fleet Forces Examinations.
  • As the Senior Water Control Watch on USS HST, trained 115 Sailors leading to 63 individual qualifications including 4 senior qualifications. Doing this while coordinating all production and distribution of water across the ship for personnel and two 550MW nuclear reactors.
  • As the department's Gas Free Engineer, conquered 24 Battlestations drills along with 4 actual casualties. Courageous efforts ensured the safety of over 5,000 ship's personnel, and a passing score of 3.47/4.0 on the ship's CART II certification.
  • As a fully certified active Firefighter with Highland VFD, strongly supports the departments 800+ annual fire calls and weekly department trainings, serving the Town of McCandless since 2017.
