During my time as a lineman, I worked in three different areas. In 2021, I worked on storm damage, cleaning up damaged fiber and rehanging new fiber in Louisiana for 2 1/2 months as a ground hand. During my time working there, I learned how to operate a bucket truck, work a lasher, use all of the tools our crew had on hand, and climb poles. In 2022, I worked on a contract under Pennyrile Electric in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, for a little over two years until the contract was up. My crew and I worked on a variety of fiber jobs that included self-support for the whole contract, but occasionally there were other jobs, like strand and lash, MSTs, interstate crossings, and cable very seldom. When I worked over there, I really started to build my skill set. I learned how to lead a crew, work with underground fiber, read blueprint maps, figure out how to work around setbacks, and improve my ability to think outside the box to get jobs done faster, easier, and better. And finally, in December 2024 to April 2025, I contracted with a cable company running fiber in Selma, Alabama.
