3/4 of a way into my Junior year at SFHS through the high school the opportunity came up to do a job shadow in the area of career interest. My interest of civil and mechanical engineering landed me job shadowing a construction site. I was taught the ropes of the use of mechanical equipment, the way to structurally build a foundation and layout design for complex water systems.
My Junior year summer I worked at Sprout Cleaners which is our local dry cleaning in Spanish fort. In dry cleaning there are a multitude of things you will be tasked with doing.
Everything starts at the cashier. When a customer comes to drop off a load,if already in the system you print out a reciept id for their clothes and a second reciept with the pickup time for the customer. The reciept id and the clothes will then be put in a bag to then await tagging. One of the basic fundamentals you learn from day one is the tagging and documenting process. At the tagging station you take an order and sort the clothes based on the type of clothing. With the id recipt you input the name into the system marking under said persons name that these clothes are here and then printing out tags to well tag the clothes. Once all clothing has been tagged the clothing is sorted based on material and the customer's desired starch. At the end of the day you will load clothing into the drycleaning machinery which is to run overnight and then handled by the manager the next morning. Finished drycleaned clothing is hung up by tag id on the garment conveyor belt by the manager. The pickup process is where everything comes full circle. Customer pulling up through drive-through or walk in pickup is asked for name/number which is then searched through system and with order ready you print a slip to gather everything. The mini slip Will give you the ids of the clothing which you line up with the numbers on the garment conveyor belt, gathering the entirely of their order. You cash the customer out and in doing so it clears the items out the system.
One of the best mechanical challenges that I took on was the first ever go kart I built from the ground up. ect...

I serve in many various areas in my church that on a weekly basis play a role in. For example on sundays before service I either help with parking or give rides to the elderly on our golf kart to the chapel. My father and I also both serve on a disaster relief team if the area needs it. We would cut up downed trees and clean up debris in the aftermath of a natural event.
A club I've been apart of since middle school the Technology Student Association is a club that has a special place in my heart. From Dragster Design to Digital Video Production to Robotics in TSA the given task would always broaden your horizon on how to think and tackle solutions.
Something that I have the blessing to be a part of is the yearly july mission trip to San Pedro Sula. The church I attend(Cityhope) is partnered with the San Pedro Sula Dream Center in which we get to work many wonders with. The Dream center offers free resources to those in need along with much community service within the area.
