DNRC GIS INTERNSHIP Helena, MT Feb-May 2024
- GIS internship with the Sage Grouse Habitat Conservation group within the Conservation and Resource Development Division at DNRC.
- Used GIS tools to determine amount of reclamation needed for development projects within Sage Grouse habitat.
GIS Coursework
- Two semesters of GIS at Carroll College using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro
Landscape Analysis. Carroll College Fall 2021 and Spring 2022
- Drew maps of glacial features at Glacier National Park
- Studied variety of landscape formations at various locations around Montana
- Researched the extent of the Beavertail Glacier to determine if it connected to the Racetrack Moraine; presented the results at the Annual Student
Undergraduate Research Festival (SURF) to the Carroll and Helena communities
- Took multiple trips to Seven Mile Creek restoration site to study:
-Historic steam delineation
-The restoration process that took place to restore the stream and surrounding riparian habitat
-Used survey equipment and a current meter at multiple cross sections of the stream to accurately show stream width/depth, bank erosion, and CFS of the stream(compared to pre-restoration).
Soil Genisis and Classification
- Two semesters at Carroll, testing and identifying different soil types found in Montana, with multiple field excursions to collect and sample soil
