Board member of Unique Fabrics and organization forging paths to wealth building for Baltimore City'

The Unique Fabrics community organization is a youth Jobs Initiative Program to address unemployment among at-risk-youth in Baltimore City while providing youth summer employment through Youth Works. The program teaches youth how to use a sewing machine to create new looks out of existing textiles. Youth also learn life skills such as financial literacy, heath and wealth strategies and entrepreneurial skills.

 As a board member, it is my responsibility to;

 

-approve the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals

- ensure the organization has the necessary resources to achieve its goals and allocates them effectively

- monitor the progress and asses it;s performance

- establish sound financial policies and procedures

- review and approve the annual budget and ensure accurate and transparent financial report ane oversight

- support fundraising efforts and ensure Unique Fabrics' fundraising efforts

- manage potential risks of assets and reputation
