In my current role, I’m privileged to coordinate the clinical placements of both graduate and undergraduate nursing students. I manage a range of administrative tasks to ensure a smooth process, from reviewing essential health care documentation to obtaining the necessary consents. I’m proud to serve as a vital link between our institution and various healthcare agencies, ensuring compliance with their policies and keeping meticulous records of our students’ clinical experiences. My work also involves data management, communication with stakeholders, and supporting accreditation efforts. It’s incredibly fulfilling to mentor new staff and help guide our students on their professional journeys!

Clinical Experience Placement Specialist

  • Performs a variety of clerical and non-routine administrative tasks to ensure the proper coordination and placement of graduate and undergraduate nursing students in clinical practice.
  • Review all health care documentation of students and obtain consent from students to share private information with clinical partners.
  • Assure that all students are compliant with clinical partners' policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison between the College and the health care agencies where students are placed for clinical experience.
  • Meet regularly with clinical partners for updates on any new requirements.
  • Organized Career Fair with clinical partners for our Nursing Students.
  • Act on behalf of the Associate Dean with a variety of university and external stakeholders concerning securing and managing the placement experience.
  • Maintain records that document student clinical experiences, preceptors, evaluation of the program, personnel actions associated with placements, and records as required by law, the College, or the University.
  • Enter all data pertaining to clinical experience placement into the appropriate database.
  • Compose customized, non-routine correspondence; develop and edit onboarding site and manage the content on the graduate and undergraduate sites.
  • Assist the Director of Programs in problem resolution regarding student placements and clinical agencies.
  • Assist the College in accreditation preparation, validate the accuracy of information, conduct research, respond to questions from the Board and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and others regarding accreditation.
  • May train and direct student or temporary employees; may participate in the hiring and/or training of new employees.
  • Review background checks and ensured whether students are cleared for clinical.
