Cordell Perne

I was born and raised in rural Maine, just outside of the capital, Augusta. Throughout life, it has been an upmost priority to never let geographical constraints limit my access and knowledge regarding the world around me. Through stays with host families in China and South Africa during middle school and high school, I persevered in maintaining hopeful ambitions to contribute to a better world as an aspiring young professional. My primary goal now is to document and analyze conflict, violence and other travesties worldwide. I'm particularly drawn to do research to better understand the ways in which non-profits and NGOs, as non-engaged members, can positively assist those in need.

• Achieved the position of Student Body President at my former high school through effectively promoting a more connected relationship between boarding and day students.

• Bowdoin College Residential Life (Fall 2024-present), Proctor, a liaison between orientation programming and new students at the beginning of the semester; always accessible to students for their various needs, both physical and mental; on-duty nights to ensure student safety within first-year dorms, present
• Bowdoin Reunion Events Ambassador (Spring 2024), "Class Host" for the 25th Reunion, which involved communicating transportation, entertaining guests, and answering any questions the alumni attendees had; golf cart driver
