  • Patrol the City of Midland both by patrol vehicle and on foot to preserve law and order, deter and detect criminal activity, enforce laws and regulations, respond to citizen requests for assistance and provide public safety in an effective, efficient and professional manner.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with city staff leaders, outside organizations and general public to provide optimal service and protection.
  • Direct supervision of daily patrol functions of patrol officers assigned to my shift to include but not limited to reading and reviewing of reports and crash reports as well as documenting their performance in through guardian tracker and annual evaluations.
  • Assist in development of both senior and junior officers by providing guidance and leading by example to establish expectations.
  • As Team Leader of SWAT, I directly supervise operators assigned to Midland SWAT as well as participate in any SWAT Team activations for high risk warrant service or mutual aid requests from outside agencies. Maintaining and coordinating monthly/annual training and documentation together with Assistant Team Leaders.
  • Research and implementation of new and updated patrol and tactical trainings and techniques to provide to officers on shift and operators on SWAT.
  • Provide periodic tactical training and techniques to patrol officers to include but not limited to firearms tactics, room clearing, building searches and overall officer safety.
  • As firearms instructor, I provide monthly and annual firearms trainings to officers on shift as well as administrative staff and assist Range Master with coordination and implementation of monthly department firearm shoots.
