Communication

I am a very talkative and communicative person, which has helped me develop strong interpersonal skills. I enjoy talking through problems and value respectful communication when considering others’ opinions. As a college athlete, I played the role of catcher—a position that requires me to be the most vocal player on the field, ensuring that my teammates rely on my calls and leadership. Additionally, I have worked at the VCA for 3 years, where I’ve learned to use my voice effectively to express concerns, advocate for the well-being of our patients, and speak up whenever something doesn’t seem right.

Leadership

I have been a leader from a young age. Playing sports has prepared me for this due to being in a position that everyone on the field relies on for the next play call. I have been a catcher since I was 10 up until I graduated in 2024. People have trusted me with the play calls on the field due to my strong leadership. I also have had multiple other experiences before. For example, my closest friend in high school had a dog who was pregnant. We came home to check on the mom before a game and she was giving birth. But if we hadn't come home some of those pups would not have survived unless we acted. The mom was so tired from birth that she wouldn't break open the sac the puppy was in, so it may not have survived. I was fast acting and broke it open to assist the mom and give the puppy to her.
