  • Valuable Field Experience volunteering for the Visiting Nurses Association of California, working alongside the bereavement counselor, where I enhanced my people communication skills and learned to build a good/strong rapport with clients. The tasks included grief counseling sessions, over-the-phone bereavement phone calls, in-office tasks – such as closing out patient files, sometimes covering grief counseling sessions when my supervisor was unable, as well as having two of my very own patients, for which I provided the caregiver with relief. It was such a pleasure knowing that I could give of my time, offering support to those who benefited from it.

Family Live-in Private Nanny

01.2021 - Current
  • As a Family Live–in private Nanny, I have gained a great and valuable work experience working in the home with 2 Children ages 6 & 4. I have enjoyed the different experiences of working with this family and investing in the lives of two young children, being closely involved in assisting the family in the areas where Father and Mother could not because of Professional work/Employment and Educational reasons. It has allowed me to grow do to the fact that it has been my first Live–In position in a way that no other Work Experience has done for me. The responsibilities range from taking the 6-year-old to school in the morning, being responsible for creating plenty of activities, learning, and fun time for the 4-year-old while at home, as well as picking up the 6-year-old from school. Making sure kids have been fed. Making dinners consistently. Keeping light cleaning in the home and every so often, home projects are assigned, as well as grocery shopping and taking kids to and from sports practices.

I worked closely with each of the scholars from the home and enjoyed the opportunity to positively impact and guide them in an upward direction towards success. Providing 1 one-on-one) counseling to ensure the safety and health of their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Forming close bonds with each scholar as well as overlooking/interacting on an academic level, ensuring their success. It was a very enriching and fulfilling experience.

Certified Teacher Tutor

Clark County School District
01.2021 - Current
  • Lastly, as a Certified Teacher Tutor for the Clark County School District. I worked very closely with each of my students in group settings of five to six in an elementary school setting. I would see my students four or five times a week, and my students and I enjoyed the close group interaction. My responsibilities included: prepping for each session in advance, giving myself plenty of time. Books I would select and print, sentences, phrases, and fun learning activities, as well as sight words, based on the school’s curriculum standards. Each week, if I felt my groups had mastered the week's level, the following week I would move them to the next level. It was rewarding seeing the improvement of each student.
