St. David's South Austin Medical Center
Austin, TX
08.2019 - Current

Working in the CT department, PRN in a fast paced HCA Trauma facility.

Operating GE scanners and using Mckesson and Meditech. Recently changed over to using Synapse as the PACS system.

As seen on my resume, I have worked at this facility prn and completed some contracts over the last 7 years with a travel company for this hospital.

They are very familiar with my work skills and ethic and know that I work well with others and as a team. I just step in where I am needed to lend a helping hand and to help cover lunches.

  • Communicated with physicians, nurses and other team members concerning patient status, diagnoses and related information.
  • Tended to physical and psychological patient preparation, calmly talking through procedures while positioning patients for scans and x-rays to alleviate nervousness or anxiety.
  • Used computed tomography equipment to take images of patients from different angles to form complete picture of condition and provide firm foundation for accurate diagnosis.

Worked independently as the only CT tech for most of the shift. Overlap of tech was provided if allowed by management. Mostly daytime and evening hours during the week, handling Outpatient's, Inpatient's and ER workload. Operated a 64 slice GE Optima Scanner. I often started IV's and drew blood if necessary. I also transported all our patients throughout the hospital. At this facility we had a paperless system and used the tracking board to find our patients. Synapse is the operating system we usied for Radiology orders and the PACS software by Fuji that we had. Allscripts in the other operating system we used for tracking the patient's lab values, nurse notes and doctor's orders. One of the most important values we practiced was to use sanitizing foaming in and foaming out of patient's rooms. Of course A.I.D.E.T. as well. We aimed to do our absolute best every day.
