Clean/fuel/ice boat for the day. Make sure all equipment, rods and reels, tackle and bait are secure and ready for a days trip. First thing I like to do when clients get on the boat is go over a safety sheet, this is where I would tell everyone where life jackets, whistles and throwables are kept, I would talk to and make sure all clients on the boat are comfortable and have what they need. As the deckhand I would bait hooks, unhook all fish and teach clients the correct way to handle, reel in, and release fish. The main part of my job description would be making sure that the customers have a good time fishing, at the end of the day I would clean all of the fish, clean the boat, and also make sure all of the equipment is cleaned and accounted for.
