- Working in Forensic Admissions in a State Psychiatric Hospital. Completing Med pass and working with residents that have been sent from State Law Enforcement Agencies due to being found incompetent to proceed with their court proceedings.
- Residents arrive and are evaluated by a team of providers and a treatment plan is developed.
- The next morning after arrival I obtain admission bloodwork.
- I complete med pass and often have to redirect the resident in an attempt for then to take their medications.
- If they are being aggressive or displaying SIB, I will contact a provider and obtain an order for chemical or mechanical restraints depending on the circumstances or elevating their level of observation.
- I am familiar with multiple psych medications and their proper administration.
- Once treatment is successful and residents are found to be competent, they are retuned to the agency they came from to face their charges.
- On some occasions, the resident it's found to be non-restorable and is committed to the state hospital.
