My experience from the jobs I have had is well-rounded. I can comfortably operate heavy machinery and power tools, work well with and lead a team, and talk to new people or customers to help complete a task or solve a problem.
I help move pianos in and out of houses. They usually weigh about 300lbs and can get up to 600lbs. Fortunately, the way our crew works together we get it done safely.
At Rex Marine, I move boats on trailers with a smaller Toyota forklift, use a Travel Lift to launch and haul 30-50ft boats, and operate a Wiggins forklift to move smaller boats. I have shifts where I lead the crew on busy summer days, hauling and launching a lot of boats and working as a team.
At ASF, I sold running shoes and clothes to customers, and often opened/closed the store. I learned to talk and connect with different types of customers.
I was the deckhand on a 93ft Viking going from CT to Florida. For the 9 day trip, my main duties were cleaning the yacht. When we came to a dock, it was my duty to set up the fenders correctly and jump off the ship to tie it down.
My job at Poster Hardware was to help customers find what they needed, restock shelves, and help clean up/ lock up the store at night. I also cut keys, cut glass, and built wheelbarrows.
