My role with this company was as an operator in the production of steel and titanium plane parts for both commercial and military applications. As a hot form operator, I had to use the job board on the computer to locate which part needed to be ran and which machine it needed to be made in. My next responsibility was to unstrap and unload the die that was in the machine, locate the next die from the racks outside and loading that die and strap it in. Then I had to set all the temps and programs in the oven for the part to be ran. Once that was completely, I had to locate the blank parts and prep then with a special coating and scotchbrite them smooth. One the oven was up to temperature, I began running the oven and inserting the blank parts into the 1400-1800 degree oven wearing a full heat suit. Once the part was complete, I'd remove the completed part and load the next blank. I then had to take the part and check it with various different checks including fitment tests and measuring thickness with micrometers magna mics.
