I would talk to existing and potential customer had see what their door hardware needs are and build up quotes accordingly. I would enter purchase orders with the vendors and track orders from start to finish.
I went out to job sites do so walk throughs and take measurements to ensure the correct product was ordered. I also handled our walk in counter and putting orders in for those customers as well.
As manager I oversaw the warehouse crew, our welding shop and our delivery drivers. I would make sure everyone was on task and orders met their goals for delivery.
I would jump in and help out as needed such as working in the welding shop cutting windows into doors and prepping doors for deadbolts to helping with deliveries. I did weekly cycle counts to ensure our in stock product levels were accurate. I worked with the drivers and office manager to set up the weekly delivery schedule.
I started in the warehouse pulling orders and building up locks. From their was I printed to doing all the in house keying where I would cut keys and pin and cylinders. I also worked in the receiving and returns dept where I would check in the incoming material ensuring it was correct and stocking the shelves daily. For returns I would work with the vendors and get RMA's sent back. I was then promoted to purchasing where I had a group of vendors I was in charge of. I would do the weekly buying, special orders, and get call tags for returns. I was also in charge of the daily cycle counts.
