I have been around dairy cattle my whole life. Dairy cattle are my passion. I have been showing cattle since I could walk and completed 10 years in 4h and 6 years in FFA. My father had a small herd of registered Holsteins where I learned the majority of my skills and gained my passion for this industry. In 2017 my father lost our freestall barn in a fire and it was from that tragic event that our herd started to decrees. I stated to take on more rolls and responsibilities to take care of our cattle and to have them ready for up coming shows and sales. I stated making all the breeding decisions on our cattle and kept all the records up to date. I also started to really take interest in feed rations and worked closely with my feed mill to make a custom feed mix for the few cows I was milking and for my show heifers. I also started taking more interest in fitting dairy cattle. I would spend hours in the barn clipping my own animals and then I started fitting for other people for shows and classification. Eventually with the little income I had coming in from my small clipping business and my part time jobs throughout high school I was able to pay for the feed and supplies needed for my cattle. Aside from my chores at home I was also very competitive in dairy judging for 5 years. My dairy judging team and I judged cattle all across Indiana, Ohio , Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. We also won numerous awards and had the opportunity to analyze some very good cattle. Some of our top highlights from judging was Indiana state champions 2 years in a row , World Dairy Expo, 3rd place individual for Brown swiss at World Dairy Expo and first place individual and first place team at the Ohio Spring Dairy Expo. I am very thankful for all that this industry has taught me and for all it will continue to teach me i would not be the person I am today without dairy cattle.
Worked on and off while in high school and as needed after graduation
