Operate skid loader and auger Duties, accomplishments and related skills operates up to 55 horsepower diesel powered industrial type tractor with attachments (i.e., 3-point hitch mounted PTO driven 80 inch cut rotary mower, post hole auger, 7 foot one-way snow plow, 7 foot grader blade, etc.). Operate pickup trucks, dump truck, stake body trucks and UTV's. Conducted operator's preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment following manufacturer’s recommendations. Performs paved and unpaved trail maintenance tasks. Makes road repairs, bituminous and aggregate surfaces (i.e., by filling in potholes and raveled edges with bituminous patching material, by adding and spreading crushed stone to correct irregularities, etc.). Removes dead, hazardous, and fallen trees and limbs from roadways, trails and park grounds. Constructed and repaired various historic and non-historic fencing to preserve park integrity and enhance visitor experience. Performs turf maintenance. Operated self-propelled riding mowers. Operates smaller gasoline (2 & 4 cycle) powered equipment. Moderate to heavy physical effort may be required in operating equipment, in lifting 45-100 pounds, for example lifting trash containers, moving tables and benches, loading and unloading cargo, in repairing/constructing roads, trails and fences, using hand tools to dig and backfill ditches, etc. Construction and repairs a variety of historic and non-historic type fencing (i.e.; Virginia worm, and 5 rail). Performs turf maintenance by replacing soil back to undisturbed state. Operator of self-propelled riding type mower (i.e.; walk behind brush cutter and riding mowers) for fence repair. Use of post-hole diggers, digging iron, and shovels to replace posts. Assisting doing various jobs around the battlefield, such as chipping operations, using pull behind chipper and dump truck. Operating dump truck and pickup truck to transport materials and crew to job sites around park, and machine operator using skid loader and auger to drill post holes. Using chainsaws to remove dead, hazardous, and fallen trees and limbs from roadways, trails, and park grounds. Performs operator preventative maintenance (i.e.; oil changes, greasing of equipment, air filters, warning lights, and fluids), inspections on the equipment using the manufacturers recommendations, and making sure the maintenance log and record entries are appropriate. Lastly, coordinates ACE crew members on job tasks to be performed.
